Enzo Maresca says too early for Chelsea to challenge for Premier League title
Enzo Maresca, Chelsea' head coach

Premier League is entering Gameweek 13 this Saturday, and the awaited London Derby will definitely be the main course for this week.

Chelsea will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, with The Blues looking to cut the gap from Arsenal to only three points.

Both teams surely come with strong motivation after a great night in the Champions League. Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich made them on top of CL league phase standing. And Chelsea’s brilliant 3-0 win against Barcelona kept them in the top eight in the league phase standing.

At this point last year, Enzo Maresca was asked whether his Chelsea team is ready to fight for the Premier League title, and the answer is always the same “it’s too early.”

He always talked down their chance to fight for the title, and proved it with the team dropping in terms of the performances in the second part of the league, and had to fight hard for the Champions league’s spot for this season.

This year however, Chelsea looks stronger and ready to face the challenge ahead of the Premier League season.

“It’s too early in any case if we win or don’t win [against Arsenal],” said the Italian coach of his side’s title chance. “It’s November, there’s five or six months to go.

“It’s important where we are [in the table] in February and March and we’ll see if we can achieve something important.”

Chelsea’s Performance In The Premier League and Europe

Chelsea’s best display under Maresca in his 18-months time was probably this week against Barcelona. The way they played and the way they executed the tactic was brilliant. The atmosphere in the stadium was so immense and I hadn’t seen it for the last few seasons.

The Blue London side also won six out of the last seven games in the Premier League and put them just six points away from Arsenal.

The first two months were mixed, but they slowly got their rhythm and now, it looks like Maresca already found the solution for most of his team’s issues.

Maresca said “It’s another big game. We finished the one against Barca with a good feeling. If it’s bigger than the last one, I don’t know. For me they’re all important.”

“It’s a nice feeling but it’s three points. Then we have Leeds which is three points in the same way.”

“The mindset and mood are very good. We are doing good in the Premier League and Champions League. It’s a good feeling that we can see we’re improving and growing”’

“We need that improvement, the fans the way they were. It’s always nice to share that kind of moment at the end of the game with everyone.” Find more relevant article about Premier League on Price In UK

This game will not only be about the cumulative teams performance. The highlight will also be shown toward two in form midfielders, Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice.

Both players were playing very important roles in their Champions League night.

Match between Chelsea and Arsenal always give interesting match to watch. Not only for their fans but also for football fans in general. The tension that build up during and before the game adds more intensity for this fixture.

The status of the biggest team in London always give fans something to argue which of them is the biggest team.

It’s also interesting to watch Noni Madueke who was playing for Chelsea last season and now he will come to Stamford Bridge with red jersey of Arsenal.
