Premier League: Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta future is uncertain after Palace and Mateta’s representation talks regarding a new contract haven’t found a way out.
The current contract of Mateta will expire in June 2027, and initial talks over new terms and conditions early this year were said to be positive by all parties.
But an agreement hasn’t been found with Mateta is in no rush and still not sure whether he wants to stay with Palace or continue his career elsewhere.
Mateta right now has been seen as one of the most dangerous strikers in the Premier League, with his performances being recognized by France National Team, and since his debut in October, he scored two goals in six matches for France.
With the FIFA World Cup getting closer, Mateta will have the upper hand in the contract talks. The 28-year old will consider all the available options after the competition that will end in July.
For now he will hold his position and assess it later. He surely hopes that he will have a good performance during the tournament to get more attention in the market and to boost his position in the contract talks with Crystal Palace.
Some clubs from Europe have declared their interest toward the French striker in recent months, and one of them is Atalanta from Serie A. Find more interesting news and information about Premier League on Price In UK

“We missed a couple of chances in July and August, in the transfer window, to make it easier for us but again we will stick together and make it better.”
He continued to criticize the Palace’s board by saying: “If you play European football for the first time in your history, you should invest and not save.
“I think January is too late [to add]. We will have played more than 50% of our games.
“Everything was pretty clear and I didn’t say anything but today I think it is also time to speak about it that we missed the chance to play an even better season in the summer.”
Oliver Glasner’s Future in The Premier League and Crystal Palace

Oliver’s future at this Premier League’s club remains unclear for now. WIth his contract expiring at the end of the season, he will certainly continue pushing the Palace’s board if they decide to offer him a new contract.
