Premier League has once again proven that winning the league is a thing, but retaining the title is another thing that is so hard to do.

Under the pressure from the media after the loss against PSV, Arne Slot as the Liverpool manager said that he already had a conversation with the owner of the club.and claimed that they had the “same conversation” they had since the start of last season and that they will “fight on.”

Arne Slot as Liverpool manager is under immense pressure at Anfield following the 4-1 defeat against PSV in the Champions League (26-11-2025). It was the ninth loss after 12 matches this season and making it their worst run in 71 years.

When asked whether he had been called by the sporting director about the recent bad performances, Slot said “We’ve had the same conversation that we’ve had since I got here.”

“We fight on. We try to improve, but the conversations have been the same as they have been for the last one and a half years.’

Arne Slot’s first year in charge as the Liverpool manager was a massive success. He led Liverpool to win their 20th Premier League titles. Matching the record of Manchester United that was held for a long time.

After the Premier League title winning season, Slot’s Liverpool spent almost £450 million to strengthen their squad in order to retain the Premier League title this season. Including Alexander Isak, the current British transfer record of £125 million, and another £100 mill+ for Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

But even after spending so much money on transfer fees, Liverpool now sit 12th in the Premier League table after just six wins after 12 matches. Their condition is also bad in the Champions League. Sit in the 13th position in the league phase after their defeat against PSV.

Slot’s Next Challenge In The Premier League

Jamie Charrager said on CBS Sports. He said “Liverpool are not a sacking club, but it does get to a stage for any manager at a club where it’s untenable.”

“There is a lot of pressure if you work or play at a top club.”  said Arne Slot before their visit to West Ham this Sunday (30-11-2025).

“And then there is even more when you start losing more games than this club, players or the manager are used to. But there was pressure last season as well for us to win the league.

“But now it’s a different kind of pressure because we have lost so many games.

“In the end, it’s about doing what this club is about. Keep fighting no matter how difficult it is. It would also be nice if we reward ourselves in the moments we play well.”

Slot also expects Allison to back from injury and added that Hugo Eketike’s issue against PSV is not a big deal.

Slot doesn’t really tell what’s his plan to fix the issue in the Liverpool, but he said something regarding Salah’s performances this season. For more information and news related to the Premier League, find it on Price In UK

Mohammad Salah has been Liverpool’s top performer for the most season since he signed for Liverpool back in 2017. This season, after eight Premier League games, Salah only registered two goals and two assists, which way below his standard in performances.

The reason behind his downfall could be down to the departure of supporting players that could give Salah full support during his career at Liverpool. Another reason most likely is the adaptation to the new system that Arne Slot tries to integrate to his Liverpool team.
