Premier League leader Arsenal came to Stamford Bridge with a mission to enlarge their points lead on the table, while Chelsea were on a mission to cut down the six points gap, with the hope to be able to challenge for the title this season.
The London Derby was the biggest fixture in gameweek 13 of the Premier League and fans were hoping for an intense match with both teams having good momentum in their hands.
Both teams came with their strongest line up for this game. The game started with so much intensity and both teams tried to show each other which team got the better physical side between them.
Three yellow cards were shown only 13’ minutes into the game. Both teams certainly didn’t disappoint the fans with both teams going attacking since the kick-off.
Arsenal got more possession in the first half, but Chelsea got more attacking momentum going.
Chelsea’s good momentum had to stop after Moises Caicedo was sent off at 38’ minute after his late challenge to Mikel Merino. The referee took a look into VAR and confirmed that the challenge was worth a straight red card. That meant that Chelsea will lose Caicedo for three matches in all England’s competitions.
Caicedo has been vital for Chelsea this season with his ability to quickly cover the ground and his awareness to intercept the ball before opponents could do anything with it.
Despite losing one man, Chelsea kept their attacking game and even almost scored a goal that was brilliantly denied by David Raya.

The score remained 0-0 at half time with Arsenal having numerical advantage in the second half.
The second half started and it didn’t take long for 10-men Chelsea to score first in this game. At 48’ minute, Reece James sent a beautiful corner kick to the near post where Chalobah was positioned. Chalobah then headed the ball to the far post where there were no Arsenal players to cover the area.
After the goal, The Blues tried to defend their lead by playing more defensive and closing most of the area where Arsenal were good at.
Arsenal finally got their equalizer at the 59’ minute. Bukayo Saka with his beautiful skill and footwork dribbled through Chelsea’s defense before releasing a cross to the middle of the host’s penalty area. Mikel Merino who was loosely marked by the defenders freely jumped and headed the ball past Robert Sanchez who also did well in this game.

Arsenal maintain their lead in the Premier League, but their point gaps are now down to only five points. With the league still has so many games to go, the condition of the table could quickly change in a matter of no time.
Arsenal are becoming the favorite to win the Premier League title this season after both Liverpool and Man City have a difficult season this time. Having an overall better squad depth and very solid defensively making them very tough to face.
Also, their set piece routines are still so annoying to face in so many moments. Currently they are tight with Man United on goals from set piece with 10 goals.
