Premier League: Mikel Arteta is in a hard condition as Arsenal are in the state of crisis recently. In the recent weeks, Arsenal have been dealing with injuries with their defensive players.
Previously, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have been injured and unable to play for Arsenal. The defensive pair have been so impactful with their solid defense and their connection in the backline is so strong and well coordinated.
With both players being injured, Christhian Mosquera was included in the starting line up, but he was not even finished the match as he also got injured in the second half of the match and needed to be subbed off.
With Mosquera also injured, three center backs are injured for Arsenal which is not looking good at all for a title challenger team. It’s not even over because Kai Havertz is also still injured and recently, Max Dowman, their 15-year old wonderkid is also injured and needs to be sidelined for weeks.
The injury of Dowman is confirmed to be in the ankle ligament, and that means that Dowman will be excluded from the Champions League squad against Club Brugge.
To make things worse, Arsenal will also be without Leandro Trossard who was injured in the game against Aston Villa and also Declan Rice who is reportedly due to illness, and not injured.
Arsenal have had 28 cases of injuries this season with that being the highest amongst clubs in the Premier League.
Journalists and fans have called out Arteta about his training method and that probably the part of the causes behind many injuries happened this season.
When asked about that, Arteta responded with:
“But obviously when you are missing players, you are loading other players and there is a consequence to that, and it’s a really dangerous circle.
“You have to separate the kind of injuries. Some of them have been long-term and some have been acute injuries. It’s something that we are constantly looking at.
“We have played a lot of games with a lot of players missing and that puts a lot of stress, and then you get more injuries.”
It is Always Arsenal’s Problem For Their Premier League Title Challenge
Questions have been raised because it has been happening for three seasons now. Every time it’s getting closer to the end of the season, Arsenal always have an injury crisis that causes them to fail in all the competitions they participated in.
It’s no longer a coincidence at this point for Arsenal. There is a problem that Arteta need to look after and solve as soon as possible if they still want to challenge for Premier League title.
