Manchester United’s striker, Joshua Zirkzee is currently being closely monitored by AS Roma who are interested in bringing him back to Italy on loan in January. Roma are already preparing a loan offer for the Dutch striker, with an option of permanent deal if the requirements are met.
Earlier reports suggested that Joshua ZIrkzee was looking for a move away from Old Trafford to get more game time. As the World Cup is getting closer, he wants to play as much as he can to try and get into the Netherland’s squad for the tournament.
Earlier this season, Zirkzee only played from the bench and never started a single game, even Benjamin Sesko got his first start of the season before him. He has been mainly used in the second half to seek out the results, or helping with his link up ability.
But everything started to change when Benjamin Sesko got injured during the game against Tottenham, and Cunha also got injured just a day before Everton’s game. Zirkzee started his first game of this season against Everton playing as a striker. He was looking confused on the pitch as a striker, and might get a better chance playing as one of the no.10.
Manchester United lost the game by 1-0 at home and fans were not happy with his performance. Amorim then made him as a starter again in the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace where Zirkzee scored his first goal in almost a year, and also in the West Ham’s game that ended in a draw.
He was later benched again and played as a late substitution when United trashed Wolves by 4-1.
After this recent condition where he gets more game time in his hand, it looks like it was decent enough for him to rethink his decision, and recent reports indicate that Zirkzee is wanting to stay and fight for his position in the starting 11.

Manchester United Short In Forward Area

Manchester United are currently short of options in the striker position as Benjamin Sesko is still out injured, and Matheus Cunha has not found his form in Man United’s jersey yet. Zirkzee is definitely an option for Amorim.
With Bryan Mbuemo and Amad Diallo set to leave Manchester United for AFCON, Zirkzee’s game time will be increased and he might start more matches during the AFCON period which will end on 18 January.
With Mbuemo and Amad away, Manchester United will potentially not willing to let Zirkzee go as they are already short in option with the injury of Sesko. Zirkzee also still has a long contract at Old Trafford until 2029 with an option to extend for another season.
