Manchester United had a trip to Molineux stadium to play face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the gameweek 15 of the Premier League. Man United came with a mission to grab all three points home after their abysmal 1-1 draw at home against West Ham.
On the other hand, Wolves are still looking for their first ever Premier League win this season. The combination of lack of investment in the summer and morale already dropped make it harder for them to really compete in this season’s league campaign.
Manchester United came with a slightly different starting 11 with Mason Mount starting this game ahead of Joshua Zirkzee. United were still without De Ligt who was reported last game as having small issue,
United got the lead after just 25’ minute into the game after Bruno Fernandes scored a goal with Matheus Cunha’s first assist for Manchester United.
Wolves got a glimpse of hope after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde scored their first goal since late October at the end of the first half after he was unmarked in the penalty area, and made the score back to equal. The first half ended in 1-1.
No change was made from both teams in the second half, and five minutes into the second half Bryan Mbuemo scored his goal from a counter attack. It was his seventh goal for Manchester United this season in all competitions and he is still the top goal scorer for The Red Devils.
Mason Mount then added United’s Third goal of the night after making a good run with a beautiful pass from Bruno Fernandes and made the score 3-1 for the away team.
In the 82’ minute, Manchester United got a penalty after Mosquera committed a handball when he tried to block Amad Diallo’s shot. Bruno Fernandes then executed the penalty with ease to conceal the victory for United.
Man United didn’t play brilliant football in this match, but the quality of the Wolves’ team were so bad this season that they were easily beaten by almost every team in the league.
