Manchester United are looking for a midfield overhaul next year, and it is not confirmed yet whether they will start it in January, or will go all in in the summer.
The latest report from Sky Sports indicates that Manchester United will try to sign a player from Sunderland, Noah Sadiki. Sadiki was signed by Sunderland from USG for around £15 million this season.
He gave an instant impact for the Sunderland team and this performance has been noticed by two Premier League giants, Manchester United and Chelsea. For Man United, Sadiki could be an option if Carlos Baleba of Brighton is deemed too expensive to sign.
It will be interesting to wait and see the movement of both teams to convince Sadiki to sign for them.
Sacha Tavolieri from Sky Sports wrote:
‘Manchester United and Chelsea are vying for Noah Sadiki! The battle is already raging in the Premier League… and it concerns a name still relatively unknown to the general public, but not to scouts: Noah Sadiki.
‘The Congolese midfielder from Sunderland is attracting a lot of attention, to the point that Manchester United and Chelsea have decided to step up their pursuit.
‘According to our information, Chelsea acted immediately after the Black Cats’ last match against the Blues on October 25th, contacting Sunderland to inquire about the asking price for the young talent. This direct approach is a sign of the very serious interest from Stamford Bridge.
‘But Chelsea aren’t alone. Manchester United have long had Sadiki in their sights: the Red Devils had already approached the player’s representatives at the start of the season, proof that the situation is being closely monitored.
‘Looking for a midfielder, United could turn to Sadiki if signing Baleba proves too expensive.
‘With Chelsea aggressive in the transfer market and Manchester United looking for creative solutions, the race to sign Noah Sadiki is officially on… ‘
Sadiki will be a player that needed by Manchester United as he play as defensive midfielder that could cover a large area. His stamina and work rate will be useful for for Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 tactic, as the midfield only covered by double pivot midfielder pair.
Manchester United Midfielders Current Condition

Currently, Manchester United have some players with uncertain futures at the club and some of the names are midfielders. Kobbie Mainoo will likely be affected if the signing of Sadiki happens.
Napoli have been reportedly try to get Mainoo on loan in January, and he is also keen to leave as he does not have enough game time for the team this season. With the World Cup incoming, he will try his best to be in the England squad, but his game time at United will be not enough for him to show that he deserve a spot in the national team.
Casemiro’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and Manchester United are hoping that he will sign a new contract with a new wage structure so he could stay longer at the club.

For Ugarte, if Man United could find his replacement with reasonable price, and Galatasaray are keen to sign him in January, Ugarte is very likely allowed to leave.
Manchester United Other Targets In Midfield

Man United have been monitoring some high profile names for their midfield target. Carlos Baleba is the first name as they tried to sign him last summer, but failed due to Brighton’s asking fee of more than £100 million. Then there is Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace who has been impressive under Oliver Glasner since last season.
The last name is Elliot Anderson who is also ranked very high since last season and will be a very good signing for Manchester United.
