Manchester United Still Need Time Under Ruben Amorim, How Much Will He Get?

Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim said that “we have a lot of problems in our club” every time asked about challenges he gets as United manager. Sometimes he likes to think that the issues are too many and that the 30 minutes conference is not enough to name all of them.

The former Sporting CP manager barely tells the specific difficulty he faces, but sometimes he gives a hint at something that troubles him the most. In the end, it’s a problem that covers anything else at Man United.

Amorim was appointed to lead a long-term project when he was signed, but with the club that demands a short-time success, it’s a hard thing to see from both sides.

“We know we need time,” Amorim said last week. “But there is no time in this club.”

Ruben Amorim was in another pressure after the 1-1 draw against West Ham. The game at Molineux facing Wolverhampton Wanderers this Monday needs to be a redemption game and Man United have to win the game against the very struggling side of Wolves.

Wolves are yet to win a single game this season, and have been defeated 12 times with two draws. Those results put them in the bottom of the Premier League table. But the inconsistent side of Man United could be so easy to break even Everton could beat them at home with 10-men for 77 minutes.

Their last encounter at the Molineux was last December where Wolves won the game by 2-0. Even with Wolves currently sitting at the bottom, many fans are worried that Man United could do something unexpected and let Rob Edward’s side have their first win.

If Manchester United are defeated by the bottom of the table, Ruben Amorim’s position as the head coach will be under so much pressure. Some fans were already calling for him to be replaced since the end of last season when United was defeated in the Europa League Final against Tottenham.

Amorim certainly knows that, in this situation where patience is needed, he probably thinks that time is dirty when you only have 13 wins from 41 Premier League games.

Manchester United Still in The Rebuilding Process

But there is a fact that Amorim indeed needs time to rebuild his squad. This summer, Man United signed three attacking players with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo, and Benjamin Sesko for big money, but the remaining squad was still the same as when he first came to the club.

He relies on a squad packed with young players as the core such as Benjamin Sesko (22), Senne Lammens (23), Amad Diallo (23), Patrick Dorgu (21), and Leny Yoro (20). When Yoro had to be replaced after his challenging game against Palace, Ayden Heaven (19) was picked to play as the starter.

They’re all players United are betting on getting better. At the moment, though, they’re not the finished article. In the last couple of weeks, Amorim has used the word “struggling” to describe Sesko and Dorgu.

Man United are indeed in a not ideal position right now, but Ruben Amorim as the head coach can’t just simply throw away his system when he still doesn’t have the players with correct profile.
