Manchester United will make a trip to the Molineux Stadium to face Wolverhampton in the Premier League. Ruben Amorim’s team will see this match and look for a win after many teams above them in the table dropped points on Saturday.
Only Crystal Palace and Brighton who are to play their match this weekend. And with the current situation, Manchester United could be in the 5th position if they win the match on Monday.
Wolves have a potentially the worst run of form in the Premier League history with only two points from 14 games so far, which means that they have two draws and 12 losses so far this season. The low spirit Wolves should be an advantage for Amorim’s team to get three points away.
Matheus Cunha make his comeback to Molineux with Manchester United

Since Cunha and Benjamin Sesko were injured, Joshua Zirkzee has been the starting striker for Manchester United. But after the match against West Ham, it looks like the situation will change. Cunha has made Man United’s attack look more dangerous with his ball carrying and his ability to drag many defenders with him and free his teammates.
And on the trip to Molineux, Cunha will be the key to break the Wolves’ low block. As of recently, United have had difficulties to break down opponents’ low block and more often than not they just circling the ball around without a dangerous breakthrough.
United also have issues where they often don’t score enough goals before going defensive to retain the lead. But it often backfired as opponents could find their equaliser and Man United dropped points from that a lot this season.
Empty stand at Molineux?
Old Gold Pack, the famous Wolves’ fan group, are calling for a boycott ahead of the fixture against United, by asking the fans not to enter the stadium until 15 minutes into the game. “If you want to make a real impact, join us in staying outside the ground for the first 15 minutes against Manchester United. A visibly empty stadium speaks louder than any chant, banner, or slogan ever could,” said in their statement.
Given the highlight when Man United come to town, an empty stand could do bad for the players as they will need their fans’ support at this current moment of the team.
But given also the situation of the team, a fans boycott could be the way to force the owner to dive in the January transfer window to strengthen their current team who are looking for their first Premier League victory.
Is Amorim a set-piece specialist?

This season, Manchester United have scored 10 goals from set-pieces, that is the same number as Arsenal have. Perhaps after their two losses against The Gunner through set-piece, Amorim has made new ways of scoring goals, and his coaching team and his players certainly work hard to improve their set-piece.
Last season, Man United easily conceded from set pieces. Whether it’s from corner kick, free kick, and even throw in, and this season, not only have they improved on defending set-pieces, they are also improving on scoring from set-pieces.

The goals against Palace meant that United have scored a little over 47% of their goals from set-pieces, it’s the highest proportion of any teams in the Premier League. It’s far more than the 2022/23 season where only scored six goals from set-piece all season.

But United have to solve the issue of leaking goals, especially toward the end of the match. United have been dropping points after they had the lead first then let the opponents score to get their equaliser and their momentum.
Do you think Manchester United can win the match and close the gap to top four? or will they bottle yet another win this gameweek?
