Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca is giving his comment about his players’ availability for next Premier League game against Everton.
The Blues will head to Stamford Bridge with 25 points and sit in the 5th position on par with Manchester United in the 6th position. Everton are in the 7th with only one point away.
According to Maresca Chelsea will be without some of their important players including Moises Caicedo who is still suspended, after his red card against Arsenal. Dario Essugo, Romeo Lavia, and Levi Colwill are still injured and still not fit enough to even train. Liam Delap will also be excluded from the team after he got injured last week.
Maresca was asked about whether or not Cole Palmer will play in the weekend because he was excluded during the Champions League game against Atalanta. Wesley Fofana was taking a part in the UCL game in the second half, but he was forced to be subbed off after he got injured on his eyes.
Maresca said:
‘Cole is ok, he is better and he is available at the moment. We have one more session this afternoon.
‘Yesterday he finished the session with us with a mixed feeling but overall he is ok.’
Maresca also gave an update on Fofana and said:
‘He is available, he is fine. He took part in the session yesterday and is completely fine.’
‘We don’t know yet. It could be two, three, four weeks. We don’t know exactly how many days he will need.’ Maresca added when asked about who long Delap will be out.

Chelsea’s Current Performance

Chelsea are currently in the bad run of form in December. They haven’t won a single game since they beat Barcelona in the Champions League. In the Premier League, they didn’t win their last three games, and the 3-1 loss against Leeds United is one to forgot.
With Cole Palmer back in the team and ready for the game, it could be a boost for Chelsea’s attack who are looking lack in creativity without his presence on the field. He certainly has not gotten his best performance, but his presence really make a different for the team.
Chelsea need to win their next game to maintain their challenge for top four because they are only one point away from Everton and even on par with Manchester United. They couldn’t afford to lose more points this weekend, or they will be overtaken. 5th position is still not safe with the point gap so small.
