The International Emmy Award-winning, highly regarded international espionage thriller Tehran has been renewed for a fourth season, according to Apple TV, which also revealed the launch date and a sneak peek at the third season.

Hugh Laurie, a multi-Emmy Award nominee, joins the cast of the eight-episode third season of Tehran, which will launch globally on January 9 with one episode. New episodes will air every Friday until February 27.

Laurie plays South African nuclear inspector Eric Peterson in the third season of Tehran, which has been praised as “nail-biting,” “thrilling,” and “one of the most suspenseful Israeli shows ever made.” Laurie co-stars with returning actors Shaun Toub and Shila Ommi, as well as newcomers Sasson Gabai, Phoenix Raei, and Bahar Pars.

Furthermore, Niv Sultan also returns in her highly acclaimed role as Agent Tamar Rabinyan.

In order to survive in season three, Tamar must figure out how to reinvent herself and regain the Mossad’s favor after going rogue at the end of season two and grieving the loss of her closest allies.
