According to macrumors, the company has released the second update for its TV device software since its latest version that came out in September. This software update is available on its TV 4K and the ‌TV‌ HD models.

There will be a new way to profile work on the device, where users can now create a profile account without the need to make an Apple Account first. Thus, children and guests can also have their own profiles now.

There will be an age-restricted mode that limits the content that kids can access in the ‌app through this new mode. Now, the app can only show appropriate content that is based on the limits that have been set up on the account, with rating options that include TV-G, TV-PG, TV-14, and more.

To have the new TV profile for kids, users need to update the tvOS first. Especially for users who do not activate the automatic software updates. The software update can be done by:

  • Open Settings on Apple TV
  • Click on System
  • Choose Software Update

In fact, this is not the first time the company has shown its concern for kids mode. Previously, the company had removed several parental control applications that they considered to be endangering the privacy of their children’s users, Mobile Device Management, or MDM.

As they stated in their official account, “We have always believed that parents should have tools to manage their children’s device usage.” Thus, a New TV profile for kids emerged to give children privacy without making their parents worry about what they watch.

This news received so much positive feedback from the users. One comment on Reddit says, “Oh my god. Yes fucking please. This is actually awesome for my use case. The profiles without an account, that is.” Another comment also adds, “We need this on iPads.”

That’s all the updates regarding Apple TV’s OS 26.2 update that will bring a new TV profile for kids mode.
