Doomed! Apple UI Design Leader Quitting Team - Leaving For Meta?

Shocking news came from one of the largest technology companies in the world, Apple, where one of its leaders decided to leave the company.

This certainly arouses public curiosity, considering that Alan Dye is one of the key figures in the creation of the company products’ liquid glass UI design in the OS update launched this year. Curious? Here are the details:

According to reports, Alan Dye, who has been in charge of the company’s UI design team since 2015, is departing to become chief design officer at Meta. He will start working for Meta on December 31st. According to reports, Meta is setting up a design studio and assigning Dye the responsibility of designing “hardware, software, and AI integration for its interfaces.” Dye will report to Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

Dye’s departure marks the latest leadership change at the company, and one of many top designers to leave the company in recent years. Previously, Williams formally departed in November, and the company announced earlier this week that John Giannandrea, its AI leader, would also be leaving.

According to the report, Johnny Srouji, the company’s chief of chips, is also assessing his future there.

Until this news was written, there was still no official response from both companies.

To overcome the vacancy left by Alan, the company appointed Designer Steve Lemay. As CEO, Tim Cook stated,  “Steve Lemay has played a key role in the design of every major Apple interface since 1999. He has always set an extraordinarily high bar for excellence and embodies Apple’s culture of collaboration and creativity.”

Following the recent retirement of previous COO Jeff Williams, the company’s design staff will now report directly to Tim Cook.

That’s all the news regarding the leaving of Alan Dye, Apple’s UI Design team leader, to join Meta. Don’t miss out on any news and updates about the surrounding topic and other interesting articles only at Price in UK. See You!
