Premier League game week 13 finally gives Liverpool a bit of time to breath after they beat West Ham at home with a two goals lead.
Liverpool were looking strong and ready to retain the title this season with a five points lead in the Premier League table, and won the first seven games in all competitions
But everything went south after they got beaten by Crystal Palace in the Premier league. After that match, Liverpool looked like they just turned off their switch and couldn’t perform properly.
They managed just five wins and suffered eight losses in all competitions including the win against West Ham on Gameweek 13 of the Premier League.
West Ham currently also have a bad form. Nuno Espírito Santos seems like he still couldn’t find some solutions to his issues with his team after just signing earlier after the season started.
The game started with Liverpool looking to attack in every opportunity they had. They got some chances to score in the first half, but Areola looked amazing under the goal of West Ham and denied two big chances to keep the scoreline at 0-0 until the whistle half-time was blown.
In the second half, the intensity of the match did not change. Liverpool tried all they had to get a goal, while West Ham tried to get out from the pressure of Liverpool’s constant attack.
West Ham actually got the momentum, but they couldn’t do anything with the momentum they had in this match. Get more Premier League’ matches summary at Price In UK
In the 60’ minute, Alexander Isak finally got his first goal in the Premier League after his move to Liverpool. Cody Gakpo positioned himself behind West Ham’s defenders and was waiting for Florian Wirtz to see him. Wirtz then found Gakpo with a pass between the defenders, and Gakpo didn’t take a long time and made a cut back to find Isak in the free position. Isak then calmly shot the ball that failed to be saved by Areola.
Fans are hoping that this goal could boost the confidence of the Premier League’s most expensive player.

West Ham, after that goal still failed to find a crack from the Liverpool’s defense and to make it worse, Lucas Paqueta was sent off from the pitch at 80’ minute after he got a yellow for a foul. He then tried to argue with the referee and to his surprise, the referee gave him the second yellow card and directly sent him off the pitch.
With that red card to his name, Paqueta will miss the next game against Manchester United. It will be hard for West Ham to face United without the presence of the Brazilian.
With a numerical advantage, Liverpool were playing with more control and didn’t let down the intensity.
They finally found the winning goal in the injury time after Cody Gakpo calmly controlled the ball from Gomez and beat Areola to put the ball in the net.
Condition in The Premier League’s Table

WIth this win, Liverpool moved up to 8th position in the Premier League table just behind Man United with the same 21 points. This game showed that Liverpool still got lots of things to fix and they will surely fight for the top four position for the Champions League spot next year.
The spotlight remained on their second most expensive player, Florian Wirtz who is yet to register a single goal or assist in the Premier League after Liverpool spent a massive amount of money to sign him from Bayer Leverkusen. But his performances showed that he might get what it takes to play in the Premier League
West Ham are down in the 17th position just a position above the relegation zone and tight with Leeds United with 11 points. Santos certainly needs more reinforcement in the winter transfer window to save his team from the relegation and to save his job as the head coach.
