Manchester United will certainly look to get more options at midfielders position next summer, sources from ESPN also said that United will also look for options for the wing-backs.
Man United main options to fill the midfield next summer mostly come from the Premier League. Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Elliot Anderson are among the options that Manchester United are currently interested in signing next summer.
Those three names have been mentioned a lot this season for their performance on their clubs. Wharton has been the main option for Glasner’s Crystal Palace and played crucial role in them winning last season’s FA Cup and also the Community Shield before the season started.
Elliot Anderson last season under Nuno Espirito Santos showed that he is a complete midfielder that can lead the midfield with his composure, passing range, and his ability to read the game. This season, Elliot also improved under Sean Dyche. He has been an important player for Nottingham Forest so far.
Carlos Baleba was already rumored to agree in joining Man United This summer. But the £100 million price tag from Brighton made the deal collapsed. Last season, Baleba showed that he can control the Midfield with his ability to cover large area on the field, his work rate, and his ability to protect the ball when he had it. But this season, Baleba seems to struggle to find the same performance as last season.
Beside those three top picks, United are also considering the alternative with the Wolves’ pair Andre and Joao Gomes, Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart and also ex Chelsea’ player, Conor Gallagher.
The same source also stated that the plan for next summer transfer is to bring at least one star-quality central midfielder into the club.
Midfield is definitely is the weakest area in Manchester United team right now. Casemiro performance only good until 60′ minutes, and the depth of the midfield is also not so good. With only Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Maninoo to cover both Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.
The massive difference of performance when Casemiro is on and off the field is too far. Couple of United matches show that after Casemiro get subbed off or sent off with red card, United totally lose the control of the midfield. It is certainly concerning because right now, Casemiro can’t play for full game, so United need to find his replacement.
But Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim also needs more options for his wing-backs position. The recruitment team has also worked on the name of the targets and their potential availability.

Manchester United believe with their financial position, they can continue to invest more to bring more quality to the squad. United expect in the next six months, a number of high earners to be off their books. The names like Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are some of the high earners at United.
With Amorim target to play in the European competition next year, squad depth and internal competitions are very important in all positions.
Manchester United Plans For January Transfer
Sources also said that in the January transfer window, Man United will approach it with more caution. It means that United will less likely spend a lot of money in January and wait until next summer to spend on players signing.

However, with player like Zirkzee that wants to leave in January, United don’t completely close the door for signing players in January.
With Manchester United Currently sitting on the 10th position of Premier League table, there are chances that United will still look to do some business in January.
