McDonald’s on the ramp is one of the busiest in the city center and is just yards from Birmingham’s Grand Central Shopping Center and New Street train station.
A 17-year-old man has been charged with possession of a knife after being arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, West Midlands Police said.
A spokesman for the force said: ‘We charged a teenager with a knife after being called to a McDonald’s in Birmingham city center at 4.40am yesterday (July 23).
‘A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested within minutes of the call and three knives were recovered.

McDonald’s on the ramp is one of the busiest locations in the city center and is just yards from Birmingham’s Grand Central Shopping Center and New Street train station.
‘Fortunately, no one was injured, but the restaurant staff were shaken by the incident.’
The force claimed the suspect was not tasered during the incident and was only ‘red dotted’ despite footage showing him collapsing to the floor.
The spokesman added: ‘The teenager was not tasered but was given a red dot to ensure the safety of others.
‘He was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court this (Monday) morning.’
A McDonald’s spokesman said: ‘We are aware of an incident which occurred at our Birmingham New Street restaurant in the early hours of Sunday morning.
‘Our restaurant team called the police who arrived quickly, we will continue to work with the police to investigate the incident.’
