CCTV footage captures the getaway car used in the Greenacre gangland triple shooting
CCTV footage captured the moments after the shots were fired. The BMW caught fire just five minutes after the attack.
CCTV footage of a car speeding away from the scene of the triple shooting has emerged as police hunt for the gunman.
The black BMW was seen driving down Mevic St in Greenacre, Western Sydney, on Sunday morning, just 50 meters from where the three men, all in their 20s, were shot.
Ahmed Al-Azzam, 25, was shot multiple times, including in the head, as he sat in his silver Toyota at 2.15am on Sunday and is now fighting for his life.
Kashif Richards, 22, and Achiraya Jantharat, 19, who were in a separate vehicle nearby, were also shot and rushed to hospital.
Mr Richards was shot in the neck and is in a critical condition and Ms Jantharat was shot in the back and is in a stable condition.
The car caught on camera is believed to have been stolen in the city’s eastern suburbs earlier this year.

It was just five minutes after the Amy St shooting, two suburbs in Regent’s Park were found in flames – something that has become a trademark of Sydney’s underworld hitmen.
Because of the high number of shots focused on Mr. Al-Azzam’s car, investigators suspect that Mr. Al-Azzam was the gunman’s target.
But the motive remains a mystery as none of the three victims had a criminal record or any known links to organized crime rings.
Police officers who arrived at the bloody scene and performed CPR are credited with saving the victims’ lives.
About 20 investigators under the newly formed Strike Force Aplina are working to trace the culprits.
Opposition police spokesman Paul Toole has slammed Police Minister Yasmin Catley for keeping the public in the dark about the current gang war on Sydney’s streets.
In the past three years, 18 people have been shot dead in the Harbor City, and several others have narrowly escaped, including the latest three victims.

“The minister needs to come out and tell us what steps he is taking to proactively support our police to give them the resources they need right now, to be able to deal with the shootings we are seeing across Sydney right now,” he said.
‘(All) shootings are not happening after dark, these are shootings taking place in public spaces in the middle of the day and the community deserves to feel safe.
‘The minister has a responsibility here to back up the police and tell us what’s going on.’
Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward.
