Chadstone death: Two charged with manslaughter after man’s body found next to busy train line in Melbourne

It is believed to be related to a house fire after police found human remains suspected of killing two people

Two men have been charged with murder after a house went up in flames and a body was discovered days later next to a busy train line.

A 36-year-old Chadstone woman was arrested in Seaford on Thursday and a 35-year-old Seaford man was arrested in Carrum Downs, Melbourne, on Friday.

The arrests came after police launched an investigation into a fire at a property in Binalong Avenue, Chadstone, on Tuesday.

A 36-year-old Chadstone woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested in recent days after police found a body on Railway Parade in Chadstone, Melbourne.

Police are still investigating the incident where they found human remains on Chadstone’s Rail Parade, with homicide detectives still at the scene late on Friday night.

The fire was treated as suspicious, with a 40-year-old man listed as missing after reporting to police that he had been severely assaulted on the day of the fire.

A man’s body was found on Friday afternoon at Railway Parade, 500 meters from the train line where he was allegedly assaulted.

His body was reportedly found tied when recovered.

Homicide detectives were seen at the scene with fingerprints from a fence.

Forensic police searched a nearby house, rummaging through garbage bins.

A 36-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man have been charged with one count of murder.

The pair have been remanded in custody and will appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The body of the 40-year-old man has not yet been officially identified.
