Former Queensland police officer charged on Gold Coast with more than 70 counts of sexual abuse, including rape and child indecency
Ex-cop faces 66 charges of indecent treatment of children alleged to have been committed while in police service
A former Queensland police officer has been charged with more than 70 incidents of sexual abuse, including 66 counts of rape and child indecency.
The 75-year-old Gold Coast man was also charged with four counts of rape and two counts of common assault for the historic offence.
Queensland Police said the man allegedly committed the offense while working as a police officer.
“Police will allege the offenses took place at two residences on the Gold Coast between 1995 and 2002 while the man was a serving Queensland police officer,” police said in a statement.
When contacted on Thursday morning, the accused said, ‘Where did you get this s*** from?’

He spent almost a decade in the Queensland Police Service, mostly in general duties before retiring as a senior constable.
After leaving the police he worked as a driver for a former Queensland government minister.
The Courier-Mail contacted the man for comment and he reportedly replied: ‘Where did you get this s*** from?’.
Asked whether he would defend the charges, the person said, on condition of anonymity. ‘I have nothing to say about it, nothing.’
He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on the Gold Coast in August.
