Pete Doherty looks almost unrecognizable with mustache and hat as he performs in Manchester

Libertines frontman Pete Doherty looked unrecognizable as he performed at the O2 Ritz in Manchester on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old sported a black mustache and black hat as he took to the stage as part of his first solo tour in a decade.

The rock singer looked completely different from the way he used to when he was performing with the NME Award-winning rock band in the early 2000s.

He cut a casual figure in a black T-shirt and hung his acoustic guitar around his neck as he played for his fans.

Hanging from his microphone stand was a pink smart jacket with silver buttons and gold-embroidered sleeves that Doherty likely wore to enter the stage.

Delighted fans: The gig was originally supposed to take place in April but was canceled and rescheduled for July

Taking to Instagram, The Can’t Stand Me Now hitmaker shared a video of her new pre-show routine before taking to the stage in Birmingham.

The clip shows her immersing herself in a freezing water bath and doing complete breathing and relaxation exercises with the help of experts.

Talking followers through her process, she explained: ‘You see that you can get through life without all the crack and heroin and all the chaos that comes from that world. Although I never thought it was possible for a while.

‘I used to enjoy the chaos you see because I got a bit of inspiration from it.

‘But now it seems that I’m usually more motivated when I’m in a calm, reflective state of mind these days.

‘I was lucky to get through it in one piece… pretty much in one piece.’

Commenting on her favorite aspects of it, she continued: ‘I like to breathe and I actually look forward to it, yes. More and more started.’

‘I think maybe I’ve realized that people around me, like my manager and my wife, it seems like it’s had a positive effect you know.’

‘But maybe I’m a bit numb to it because when it’s before a performance, I’m so self-absorbed. Thinking about music.’

Throughout the height of his career, the star was constantly in trouble and was frequently arrested, including six months in jail for possession of cocaine.

Despite attending a rehabilitation center in Thailand in 2014, Doherty was found with heroin in his car in 2017.
