Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael Lohan had the sweetest reaction to his daughter’s new arrival.
The proud papa chatted exclusively with DailyMail.com about the latest addition to their family, and he couldn’t stop gushing about how ‘amazing’ the actress and her husband, Bader Shammas, will be as parents to their ‘blessed little boy’.
Lindsay, 37, and Bader, 36, who married in 2022, revealed they welcomed their first child together on Monday – ‘a beautiful, healthy boy named Louis.’
And while the Freaky Friday alum’s dad, 63, was delighted by the news, he admitted he was finding it hard to come to terms with the fact his ‘baby is no longer a baby’.

Now, proud grandpa Michael (seen with Lindsay and his ex-wife Dina) has chatted exclusively with DailyMail.com about the latest addition to their family.
‘My baby is no longer my baby – she is a mother. I am so happy for Lindsay and Bader. They will be amazing parents to their blessed little boy, Louis.’
Lindsay’s rep first confirmed the exciting news in a statement to DailyMail.com, saying in a statement: ‘Lindsay Lohan and her financier husband, Bader, have welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy named Shamas Luai. Family on the moon of love.’
The baby was born in Dubai, where the couple lives, and is believed to have arrived on Monday. Luai is an Arabic name meaning ‘shield or protector.’
TMZ reports that members of Lindsay’s family will soon be traveling to Dubai to meet little Louis.
Lindsay and Bader first started dating in 2019 and announced they were engaged in November 2021 via Instagram.
‘My love. A mother’s life. My family. My future,’ the Parent Trap alum wrote at the time.
The couple tied the knot on April 3, 2022 during a secret wedding. And almost a year later in March 2023, she announced that she was expecting her first child.

Lindsay and Bader first started dating in 2019. The couple tied the knot on April 3, 2022, and almost a year later in March 2023, she announced that she was expecting her first child.
Later, an insider told Us Weekly that Lindsay’s pregnancy brought her estranged parents together.
‘Michael and Dina are co-parenting very well,’ the source claimed. ‘This is what they wanted for Lindsay all along.’
Michael famously had multiple run-ins with the law throughout Lindsay’s childhood – he was convicted of contempt of court in 1990 and sentenced to three years in prison, and in 1997, he was arrested again for violating his probation for traveling to California. After Lindsay was hospitalized for an asthma attack on the set of The Parent Trap.
In 2004, Dina was also charged with attempted assault after getting into a fistfight with her younger brother during a party at their Long Island home.
While awaiting his trial, Michael found himself in even more hot water when he was involved in a car accident and was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
He was arrested several more times that year—first for leaving a Long Island hotel without paying his $3,800 bill and second for punching a working sanitation worker in the face.
Michael (as seen in 2011) was arrested multiple times for things like assault, DUI, evading hotel bills, and violating his probation.
He and Lindsay’s mother, Dina Lohan (seen with Lindsay), eventually separated in 2005, while she was in prison, but her pregnancy is said to have brought her estranged parents together.
Lindsey (seen with Bader) defended her father during an interview with Oprah in 2013, explaining that she ‘loves’ both of her parents and that she ‘doesn’t blame them.’
He and Lindsay’s mother, Dina Lohan, eventually separated in 2005, while he was in prison.
He was released in March 2007 after spending two and a half years behind bars, but was arrested again in 2011 after an altercation with his girlfriend Kate Major.
Still, Lindsay defended her father during an interview with Oprah in 2013, explaining that she “loved” both of her “parents” and that she “doesn’t blame them” while reflecting on her own mistakes.
‘I grew up in a very chaotic home and there were moments where everything was wonderful and perfect and then things were so uncontrolled and chaotic,’ she recalls.
‘It was sometimes the wonderful place he always wanted it to be, but other times it was hell. A lot happened when I was young.
‘I hate a bad rap [my parents] found. At the end of the day they are just parents. I don’t blame anyone for my mistakes.
‘It’s something that people go through and unfortunately I’ve waited too long to face it, even though I’ve been seeing a therapist for years.
‘No one is perfect. I love my parents and I’m not going to say that in certain situations I would have preferred to be handled differently.’
