Ricky Nixon takes swipes at Seb Costello and Caroline Wilson in 60th birthday speech

One-time AFL super-agent Ricky Nixon took a dig at two of his bitterest enemies at his 60th birthday bash.

Ricky Nixon celebrated his birthday with a huge party at the Pier Hotel in Port Melbourne on Saturday night, joined by his fiancee Melissa Huynh, several scantily clad women and his most loyal friends.

The 60-year-old’s career has been marred by scandal over his history of run-ins with journalists, including the moment he elbowed current affairs reporter Seb Costello and the leaking of a photo of him in his underwear taken by a 17-year-old.

He has an ongoing beef with veteran AFL journalist Caroline Wilson who has hit him on multiple occasions over some of Nixon’s behavior and comments.

Former AFL super-agent Ricky Nixon took a spectacular swipe at his sworn enemies in his 60th birthday speech, rehashing a beef with two leading journalists.

She previously slammed him for suggesting his downward spiral was triggered by the tragic death of a close friend.

Thanking his guests for coming during his speech, the former super-agent took aim at his sworn enemies, Costello and Wilson.

‘True friends stick by you through thick and thin and this room is my true friend,’ she said.

‘I have two public apologies to make. Unfortunately, Caroline Wilson and Seb Costello couldn’t be here tonight.

‘But who gives, tut tut,’ he said, imitating their elbows.

The elbow gesture was mentioned last year with Channel 9 newsman Costello when the reporter confronted him about his latest controversial business venture with the run-in Nixon.

Nixon lashed out as reporters chased him down the street, elbowing him directly in the face.

Costello was trying to question Nixon about a controversial business venture offering IV infusions for $350 to those who ‘want a fully revitalized life and feeling’, after launching his ‘ambulance’ to provide mobile health services during the Covid pandemic.

The AFL legend was joined by his glamorous fiancée Melissa Huynh (left) at the Pier Hotel in Port Melbourne on Saturday night.

After the encounter, Costello told 3AW he reported the matter to the police.

‘We have video of it on our A Current Affairs camera which we will provide to the police,’ he said.

‘I’ll be careful how I characterize it, but in the process of talking to Mr Nixon, his elbow made contact with my jaw… I think it’s fair to say I didn’t headbutt anybody’s elbow.’

Nixon’s 60th birthday was mired in controversy as he went to war with former AFL star Warwick Capper over who could throw the best 60th birthday party.

Thanking his guests for coming during his speech, the former super-agent noticed Channel 9 News reporter Seb Costello (pictured) who elbowed him in the face as he followed the ex-agent to question him about his latest business venture.

He also took a swipe at veteran AFL reporter Caroline Wilson who previously slammed him for saying his downward spiral was fueled by the tragic death of a close friend.

After footy wild man Caper told Nixon he didn’t want a joint 60th birthday with him, the former AFL sports agent decided to go short.

Capper planned a lavish birthday party on July 15 at the Pier Hotel in Port Melbourne, celebrating just him.

So Nixon decided to steal the limelight by holding his own party at the same venue a week earlier, on July 8th.

Before the announcement it was believed that Nixon would attend Caper’s birthday bonanza, but he is no longer welcome.

Speaking to The Herald Sun, Capper said: ‘He said it’s about you and I said of course it is, nobody knows you.

‘I said you can have 10 which is perfect. She’s had so much plastic surgery that tears are running down her back.’

Capper also told News Corp that he would slap $10,000 on the bar because it was probably the last team he threw before he died.

Nixon’s 60th birthday was mired in controversy as he went to war with AFL star Warwick Capper (pictured) over who could throw the best 60th birthday party.

‘The theme is sex, like me. I only look 39, I’ve had my eyes done and some botox, I’m a very attractive man,’ Capper said.

‘The party will still be off. I’ll have all my mates and it’ll be full of interesting people and great music with me on drums.’

Nixon became one of the AFL’s most powerful player agents in the 1990s to 2000s, representing the game’s top talent before he was brought down spectacularly.

Kimberly Amatoglou – formerly known as Kim Duthie – leaked nude photos of St Kilda players, and also leaked a photo of Nixon in her underwear in a hotel room with her in 2011, when she was just 17.

The hotel room incident marked a steep decline for Nixon, who had previously admitted that he had become too dependent on alcohol as his business collapsed.

The former St Kilda and Hawthorn player also has a long history of run-ins with reporters.

Nixon was leaving a cafe in Port Melbourne in 2013 when he spilled hot coffee on Nine News reporter Dougal Beatty.

On another occasion, he threw coffee at a court photographer after abusing him.
