A mum is furious after she revealed she wanted to take her sick daughter with a ‘dangerous bacterial infection’ on Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.
Sabrina Barstow of Fort Collins, Colorado recently took to Twitter to ask if anyone had any tickets to the popstar’s upcoming concert in Los Angeles, California in early August, because she wanted her 13-year-old daughter Charlotte. Was able to watch the show after being forced to miss one in his home state due to his hospitalization.
But the mother faced fierce criticism from fellow Swifties, who slammed her for potentially putting the teenager at risk by taking her to a ‘super spreader event’ while she is still battling the illness.
‘It’s a long shot but I’m shooting. I have a daughter [the children’s hospital in Washington, D.C.] Fighting a dangerous bacterial infection in her blood, pneumonia and bilateral pleural effusions,’ Sabrina wrote in her tweet.

‘We’re going to miss the Denver show because we can’t leave DC until the 15th until his antibiotics are finished.

‘I was hoping someone would sell three tickets to the LA show. Not looking for a handout.’
While some people responded and said they would try to help Sabrina find tickets so Charlotte could attend the sold-out performance, others accused her of ‘underestimating the severity of her child’s illness’ and noted that taking her to the show would expose her. When he is already ‘immune’ to many germs.
Charlotte is due to complete her antibiotics on July 15, and Taylor is scheduled to perform a series of shows in Inglewood, Calif., starting Aug. 3 — less than three weeks later.
For many, the proximity between the two events was considered too risky, especially considering the number of people likely to attend the sold-out concert.
‘I love Taylor, but these events are really super spreader events and weaklings need to be extremely careful if they attend,’ one person replied. ‘People don’t want to admit how dangerous it is.’
‘I really don’t think it’s time to go to a concert,’ someone else told Sabrina. ‘As a mother, I really feel uncomfortable looking for Taylor Swift tickets when your child is this sick. There will be other concerts.’
‘This woman is grossly underestimating the severity of her child’s illness and how sick even a small infection will make her,’ another user added.
‘Please don’t do it. Let your child recover at home and stay healthy for some time,’ read the fourth tweet.
