An Apple expert has revealed that the upcoming iPhone 15 will be a game-changer, so the 250 million iOS users who haven’t upgraded in four years will race to grab one.
Dan Ives, an industry insider at Wedbush Securities, predicts that the new smartphone will have more battery power, improved camera technology, a new design and a price increase of $100 to $200.
He told DailyMail.com that it’s only a matter of time before Apple moves aggressively into artificial intelligence – and the iPhone 15 could be the stepping stone.
The managing director believes the health app could have AI capabilities to improve the collection of heart rate, breathing and sleep data.
And there could be a separate app store dedicated to AI-powered apps.

AI powers Apple’s Siri, but the tech giant has yet to add the technology to other aspects of its devices — leaving it behind the likes of Google, which has added the software to its Pixel cameras.
The software improves color balance and lighting to more accurately represent photos and sharpens night photos.
Ives is well known in the tech industry for his Apple and Tesla predictions.
He reported in 2021 that the iPhone 12 would become Apple’s most popular smartphone since the iPhone 6 — and the expert was right.
iPhone 12 has become the best-selling smartphone everywhere and Apple’s most successful series.
And Ives was spot on about the price increase with the iPhone 14 — he said it would be another $100.
Now he’s putting a lot of emphasis on AI for the iPhone 15.
Apple’s foot in the AI race
Ives told DailyMail.com that AI functionality could make a dramatic rollout in health apps.
The software is believed to have the ability to create user workout and meal plans and track everything from sleep to breathing with better data.
It will do so by monitoring your movement, exercise routine and food intake, which will be used to create a unique plan.
And Apple is also expected to develop AI to track mood by capturing speech and analyzing text messages.
By capturing speech, the software can tell if you’re feeling happy, sad, stressed, and other moods — it will work with text messages, too.
‘We believe it’s a matter of when, not when, Apple takes the offensive in AI. Cook plays chess while others play checkers,’ said Ives.
Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 15 in September like every year.
The iPhone 14 costs $799, but Ives believes the upcoming handset will cost much more.
Here are all the predictions made by Ives and other rumors about the iPhone 15 doing the rounds on the web
An improved camera with more megapixels for better photos
The expert also predicts a 20 to 30 percent improvement in the iPhone 15 camera, which means better megapixels.
A 2022 report found that 90 percent of people who took photos did so only with a smartphone.
This means camera quality is at the top of the list and Apple is well aware.
“We’ve heard a 20 to 30 percent improvement over the iPhone 14,” Ives said.
‘It will likely include megapixels and other capabilities around photos that are unimaginable with the iPhone 14.’
The iPhone 15 is expected to have the same dual-sensor camera setup, but could also feature the 48MP main sensor included in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max.
These predictions were made by analyst Jeff Pu, a top Apple expert, and McRumors spotted in a research note.
And the iPhone 15 Pro may have the long-rumored Periscope instead.
This periscope camera was advanced in 2020 when MacRumors spotted another research note by noted Apple product forecaster and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Periscope lenses use mirrors to provide much greater optical zoom.
New colors can be released
He also told DailyMail.com that he and the Wedbush team have heard Apple may release one to two more colors. Current rumors are also predicting new colors
Ives also told DailyMail.com that he and the Wedbush team have heard Apple may release one to two more colors.
This is one of the latest rumors doing the rounds on the web, suggesting four new possible shades
The mock-ups were shared by 9to5Mac, which reports on the Apple update and discovered the new color rumor in a recent post on Weibo.
The crimson shade is said to be lighter than the deep purple launched with the iPhone 14, but still ‘very deep’.
And the light green was released with the iPhone 13 lineup, but the upcoming shade could be darker – closer to a mint color.
The pink shade is described as a deep pink ‘telemagenta’, and the lighter blue is ‘Picton Blue.’
However, the ‘exclusive’ dark red color will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and the mint green for the flagship and iPhone 15 Plus smartphones.
According to 9to5Mac’s source, information on color options is ‘still early’ and ‘may change’ closer to fall, so shared colors may be off.
Apple tests multiple colors before releasing new iPhone models, and if Ives is correct, only one or two will make it to the assembly line.
More power and battery life

A new video claims to show a dummy unit of the iPhone 15 Ultra ¿the most expensive of the upcoming iPhone 15 range that is expected to be released this September.
Other predictions include a 15 percent increase in iPhone 15 power from what Ives believes is an upgraded M2 chip.
Apple announced the M2 Pro and Max in January, which power its MacBooks and iPads.
But Ives believes the powerful chips will be redesigned for the iPhone 15.
It will provide more CPU and memory and storage in the smartphone.
Ives is predicting a larger battery, which is a moving belief.
An alleged employee of Foxconn, the company that makes most of Apple’s iPhones, told iHome today that the iPhone 15 family will have larger batteries.
The iPhone 15 will have an 18 percent larger battery, the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro will have a 14 percent larger battery, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a 12 percent larger battery.
This means the iPhone 15 could have a capacity of 3877mAh, the iPhone 15 Plus 4912mAh, the iPhone 15 Pro 3650mAh and the iPhone 15 Pro Max 4852mAh.
“We believe the iPhone Pro and Max will have more battery power than the flagships,” Ives said.
iPhone 15 Pro will be in high demand
Apple suffered a crushing defeat with the iPhone 14 Pro, as customers weren’t upgrading to the model – forcing the tech giant to halt production.
‘I think so [the iPhone 15] That’s going to be a game changer,’ Ives said.
‘There are 250 million iPhones that haven’t been upgraded in four years.
‘We believe there are going to be significant discounts and promotions from carriers which will set this up as a minimal super cycle.’
And Ives believes seven to eight upgrades will be the iPhone 15 Pro.
‘This is going to be the heaviest pro mix ever [Apple] Ever had and that is a high bar. Given how the pro mix was in ’14,’ he said.
‘You’re going to upgrade to Pro. But that’s why A is for Apple when it comes to iPhones.
‘And we believe we’re going to start getting closer to $950, which is about $100 higher than a year ago.’
